How do I pick a level spot for a portable toilet on a sloped Blue Hill lot?

A portable toilet on a Blue Hill lot needs a firm, fairly level spot about 4 by 4 feet, within about 10 feet of where the truck can stop. A unit on a slope can rock or tip. Driveway edges and farmyard gravel are the safest picks.

Many farm sites around Blue Hill sit on rolling ground. A spot that looks flat from the road can lean once a unit stands on it. Lay a board or a level on the spot before you mark it.

A few tips for hilly ground:

• Skip the bottom of a draw; rain runs there.
• Stay off soft hay ground after a storm.
• Pick a spot the truck can back up to.
• Leave the door facing away from the wind.

Hilltops get the strongest wind. Our drivers stake or strap units on exposed ground at no charge, so a gust won't push the unit over. If the best level spot is tight, tell us its size and we will say if the unit fits.

A standard unit is about 43.5 inches wide and 47 inches deep. See full specs on the standard porta potty page.

What restrooms work for a pasture wedding near Blue Hill?

A pasture wedding near Blue Hill with 150 guests for 4 to 8 hours needs about 4 units. Many couples pick deluxe flushing units with sinks, or a 2-stall restroom trailer. Add 1 more unit for every 4 when alcohol is served, and make 1 unit wheelchair-accessible.

Deluxe flushing units have a foot-pump flush, a sink with soap, paper towels and a mirror. They need no hookups, so they work in an open pasture. Guests notice the difference at a wedding.

A restroom trailer is the dressiest choice. The trailer needs a standard 120V outlet within 100 feet and a garden hose connection. If the pasture has neither, we can add our water tank and a generator. The trailer also needs a level spot about 8 by 18 feet plus truck access, which can be hard on hilly ground.

For a 150-guest reception with a bar, plan about 5 units. Add a hand-wash station if the food is served buffet style. Compare choices on our wedding porta potty rental page or the restroom trailer page.

How is a Blue Hill construction rental billed?

A Blue Hill construction rental is billed every 28 days at the same rate each cycle. Weekly service is included: pump the tank, clean and sanitize, and restock paper and sanitizer. There is no separate pickup fee, and billing stops on the pickup date.

Builders working in Blue Hill come from Hastings, Red Cloud and beyond. A 28-day cycle keeps the bill the same each time, so it is easy to put in a bid. Need a number for a job you have not won yet? Ask for a free itemized quote.

How many toilets does a crew need? OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51(c) Table D-1 says 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers. Larger crews need 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. That is a minimum; check with your inspector.

• Extra service visits cost $75.
• Contractors can open a business account with invoicing.
• Pay by credit or debit card; no cash on the truck.
