Why Weekend Porta Potties Arrive Early and Leave Monday

Weekend porta potty rentals drop off Thursday or Friday and pick up Monday, at the same flat rate as a one-day rental. We do it this way because our delivery window has no exact time, and your unit should be in place before the party, not halfway through it.

Why does a weekend porta potty arrive on Thursday or Friday?

A weekend porta potty arrives Thursday or Friday because deliveries run in a window from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with no promised arrival time. Dropping off 1 or 2 days early means the unit is set, stocked and waiting before your Saturday guests show up.

Our trucks run routes across a service area of about 80 miles. A driver might reach your street at 8 a.m. or at 3 p.m., depending on the stops before you.

On a Saturday, that kind of window is a problem. Nobody wants a truck backing into the yard while the cake is being cut.

Sunday is our day off, so the next truck after Saturday rolls on Monday. That is why every weekend rental is picked up Monday.

Does early drop-off cost more?

Early drop-off costs nothing extra. Event rentals are a flat rate for the full window from Thursday or Friday drop-off to Monday pickup. You pay the same total if you use the porta potty for 4 hours on Saturday or for all 4 days.

Some renters ask for a one-day or four-hour price. We do not price by the hour, because the truck makes the same two trips either way.

The upside is extra time. You can use the unit while you set up tents on Friday and while you clean up on Sunday.

Your quote lists the unit, the rental window, the trip fee and tax. See the porta potty rental cost guide for what goes into that number.

Can I get Saturday delivery instead?

Saturday drop-off is possible on request when a route is open that day. The same 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. window applies, and there is no Sunday delivery or pickup. For a party that starts Saturday at noon, a Friday drop is the safer choice.

Saturday trucks are busiest from May through September. If you want a Saturday drop, ask when you book, about 1 week ahead.

Same-day delivery runs Monday through Saturday if you call by 12 noon. Read how same-day porta potty delivery works if you are in a pinch.

Who keeps an eye on the porta potty over the weekend?

Once the porta potty is dropped off, the unit sits at your place for about 3 or 4 days before pickup. Our rental terms spell out the renter's part. A few simple steps keep the unit upright, clean and out of the way.

  • Have the door face your house or yard, where you can see it.
  • Keep it away from where cars park and back up.
  • On open ground, we stake or strap the unit against wind at no charge.
  • If you want the unit locked until party day, mention it when you book so we can talk through options.

Wind is the most common thing that tips a unit in central Nebraska. A stake or strap takes the driver a few minutes and is worth it.

Kids like to explore a new porta potty. Keep the door shut when the party winds down, and keep toys and trash out of the tank.

What about events at a city park?

City parks can have their own rules, and some do not let a portable toilet stay overnight. Check with the city 2 to 3 weeks ahead. We cannot promise a same-day drop and pickup, because the delivery window runs 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ask the parks office three things: can a unit stay overnight, where can a truck drive and does the city need paperwork from the rental company?

If the city needs something from us, tell us when you book. Getting that answer early keeps your event from stalling a week before.

What happens at Monday pickup?

Monday pickup happens during the same 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. window. You do not need to be home. Leave the gate unlocked, keep a clear path about 10 feet to where the truck stops and make sure no cars or tables block the unit.

Please do not move the unit yourself. A standard unit weighs about 165 pounds empty, and much more after a party.

Toss trash in your own bins, not down the toilet. Bottles and diapers in the tank make pumping harder for the driver.

If the unit sat on grass, the patch under it will look flat and pale for a few days. It grows back once the weight is gone.

Quick answers

Is there a discount if I only need the porta potty for one day?

The event price is one flat rate for the Thursday or Friday to Monday window. A one-day party pays the same total, and you get the extra days to set up and clean up.

Can you pick up the porta potty on Sunday?

We do not run trucks on Sunday. Weekend units are picked up Monday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and you do not need to be there.

Can I choose Thursday or Friday for drop-off?

You can ask for either day when you book, and we will fit it into a route. Thursday gives you more setup time. Friday is fine for most Saturday parties.

What if my event is on a Monday?

A Monday event can get a Friday drop, which means the unit sits at your place over the weekend. A same-day Monday drop is possible, but we cannot promise an exact arrival time.
